Aetna Medicare Supplement Rate Increase History
Many seniors shopping for their initial Medicare Supplement Plan do their research before purchasing a Medigap plan. They want to know an insurance company’s rate history. Seniors want comfort in knowing that if they enroll in a plan, the rates won’t increase drastically. If the plan’s rates increase considerably, that plan may no longer be affordable. Someone who has medical issues will most likely have a hard time getting approved for another plan once their Open Enrollment Period expires. Open Enrollment for Medicare Supplement Insurance is when you turn 65 years of age.
However, it is impossible to predict how much rates will increase with insurance companies. Inflation and rising costs of healthcare are are factors that lead to increases in Medigap rates. In addition, most plan’s rates increase as you get older.
